Things to do while in Wimberley
Blue Hole Regional Park
Blue Hole is the reason a lot of people detour to Wimberley in the first place. The spring-fed swimming area is long and narrow, with rope swings, deep sections for jumping in, and enough shade from the cypress trees that you’re not baking in the sun all day. Swimming is only open during set time blocks, which keeps the crowd size low and makes the whole experience feel more relaxed. When you’re not in the water, there are flat, well-marked trails and clean picnic areas to enjoy!
Jacob’s Well Natural Area
Jacob’s Well is one of the most photographed spots in the Hill Country, and it’s easy to see why once you’re there. The well itself is a deep, limestone opening fed by an underground spring, and you can walk right up to the edge to see straight down into the water. Swimming isn’t always open (the county closes access during low-flow periods) but the main trail is gentle and takes you past a few great viewpoints that are well worth the hike!
Wimberley Zipline Adventures
This guided tour takes you across a series of ziplines with wide, open views of the Hill Country. Some runs stretch over valleys and ridge lines, giving you a clear look across the Blanco River basin. Before you start, the guides run everyone through the gear and a short practice line so you know exactly what to expect. The whole experience takes about two hours, which leaves plenty of time afterward to grab lunch in town or head to a swimming spot.
Wimberley Cafe
Wimberley Café is a local favorite for breakfast and lunch, right there in the center of town. Their menu is full of home-style dishes like pancakes, omelets, burgers, and daily specials and its location near the Wimberley Square means it’s the perfect little spot to grab a bite before or after browsing the nearby shops.
